Video is a next to indispensable element of the modern award ceremony. It allows nominees - individuals, organisations or businesses - to be showcased on the big screen, concisely highlighting the qualities and brand messages the award signifies. For these kinds of events, video can be a surprisingly cost effective tool adding scale, value and audience impact.
Client Case Study
The Alastair Malloy Inspire Awards was a flagship event for Volunteer Glasgow, held at the city's Royal Concert Hall. Over a three week period videos were intensively scheduled, filmed and edited for the nine nominated organisations. These covered a diverse range of volunteer focused activities - from Glasgow Museums Language Guides to the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers.
The finished nominee videos were delivered ahead of the deadline, allowing the management and presentation team more time for dry runs and refinement.
Key Processes
For the Alastair Malloy Awards, there were generally three interviews per nominee film: service user, volunteer and organisation employee. Together these delivered a balanced narrative, though in terms of process, underscored how video production for awards ceremonies involves a mix of tight deadlines and fluid schedules. We worked closely with Volunteer Glasgow to create a viable production schedule which respected the everyday commitments of nominees while ensuring the high standards required for the event were met and exceeded.
